§ 1-2-4. Compensation.

(a)

The council of the City of Conway has determined that the annual salary of the mayor shall be $16,000.00, the annual salary of the mayor pro tempore shall be $11,000.00 and the annual salary of the council members shall be $10,000.00 effective on January 11, 2010, (the commencement date of the terms of two (2) or more members elected at the next general election following the adoption of this ordinance [Ord. 2008-08-25(A)]; at which time it will become effective for all members, whether or not they were elected in such election.

(b)

Such salary shall be paid on a monthly basis on the last payroll of each month and shall be for services for the current month.

(c)

No future ordinance changing such salary shall become effective until the date of commencement of the terms of two or more members elected at the next general election following the adoption of the ordinance, at which time it will become effective for all members whether or not they were elected in such election.

(d)

The mayor and council members may also receive payment for actual expenses incurred in the performance of their official duties within the limitations prescribed by ordinance.
