§ 2-1-3. Effect of chapter upon other laws; authority of city council.

Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed to modify, regulate or in any manner lessen the effect of any statutes, laws or ordinances not inconsistent herewith. The police department, including the chief of police and all its personnel and equipment, shall at all times remain responsible to the city administrator and council. The employment of members of the police force, the purchase of supplies, and the expenditures of the force shall remain under the control of and shall be accountable to the city administrator and council.
