§ 3-1-50. Boat mooring and anchoring.

(a)

Defined area. For purposes of this article, the defined area of application includes the river channel and lakes along the Waccamaw River within the city limits.

(b)

Anchoring and mooring prohibited. It shall be unlawful to anchor or moor any boat or watercraft of any and every nature whatsoever within any waterway within the city limits for a period exceeding 72 hours, irrespective of whether said boat or watercraft relocated within the defined area during the 72-hour period, except for temporary emergency situations.

(c)

Violation; misdemeanor. Violation of this article is a misdemeanor punishable by $100.00 fine per day the violation continues or a sentence not to exceed 30 days.

(d)

Effective date. In order to give opportunity for public notice, this article shall be effective 30 days after approval by the city council. (Ord. No. 2008-12-08(B), 12/8/08)
