§ 3-3-21. Cost of grave sites; burial of paupers.

  • (a)

    A fee as fixed from time to time by the city council shall be charged for a certificate of interment rights for each individual grave site, subject to the provisions of subsection (b) of this section.

    (b)

    Cemetery section no. 391 shall be designated the pauper's section; burial in said cemetery section shall be at no charge but shall be only allowed upon satisfactory proof to the city that the deceased has no means of paying for interment rights.

    (c)

    From the fee for each certificate of interment rights as provided for in subsection (a) of this section, $25 shall be deposited into a restricted cost account of the City of Conway for use by the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Committee for beautification of the cemetery.

    Note— On January 1, 2014, the portion of the certificate of interment fee to be deposited into the city's restricted Rose Hill Cemetery fund will be increased from $25 to $50.
     On January 1, 2015, the portion of the certificate of interment fee to be deposited into the city's restricted Rose Hill Cemetery fund will be increased from $50 to $100.
