§ 5-1-34. Plumbing code.

  • (a)

    Adoption of Plumbing Code . This section is to be known and referred to as the Plumbing Code of the City of Conway. There is hereby adopted in its entirety by the City of Conway the International Plumbing Code, Current Edition, as amended, a copy of which is to be kept permanently on file in the office of the building official as part of the general ordinances of the City of Conway, with same being incorporated herein by reference, and without the necessity of setting out and copying in its entirety the International Plumbing Code, current edition, as amended.

    (b)

    Amendments and revisions . As the various parts of the International Plumbing Code, Current Edition, may be amended or revised from time to time in the future by the State of South Carolina, such amendments or revisions are adopted by the City of Conway without the necessity of re-enacting and republishing the foregoing provisions of this section in its entirety.

    (c)

    The person in control of any plumbing work of any kind in the city and the person qualified to pull a permit must be the holder of an unrevoked and unexpired plumbing license issued by the State of South Carolina or hold a master certificate issued by the Municipal Association of South Carolina.

    (d)

    Authority to order discontinuance of private sewer or drains . The building official shall have the power and authority to order discontinuance and to prevent the use of any private sewer or drain through which there is being discharged any substance or thing prohibited into the city sanitary sewer lines.
