§ 7-1-3. Purpose and duration.

  • The business license levied by this chapter is for the purpose of providing such regulation as may be required for the business subject thereto and for the purpose of raising revenue for the general fund through a privilege tax. Each yearly license shall be issued for one (1) calendar year ending April 30. The provisions of this chapter and the rates herein shall remain in effect from year to year as amended by the council. Vendors selling at flea markets by the day shall pay a daily business license fee. This license fee shall only be valid for one (1) sales day. The vendor may pay for up to seven (7) consecutive daily rentals at one (1) time. However, daily vendors shall have the option to purchase an annual business license any time they so choose. All other vendors selling at flea markets must comply with the City of Conway's business license ordinance and purchase business licenses annually that are valid from May 1 through April 30 of each fiscal year.
