§ 3-3-13. Definitions.

  • (a)

    The term "owner" shall mean the owner of interment rights in the remaining lots of Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

    (b)

    The term "interment" shall mean burial of the remains of a deceased person below the ground, except as provided in section 3-3-16(e).

    (c)

    The term "memorial" shall mean any bronze, stone, or other marker, hereafter described, placed upon or in any lot for the purpose of identification or in memory of the interred.

    (d)

    The term "contractor" as used in these rules and regulations, shall mean any person, firm or corporation, or anyone engaged in placing or erecting or repairing any memorial or performing any work in the cemetery grounds, other than employees of the city.

    (e)

    The term "vault" shall mean a casket receptacle made of metal of accepted thickness, concrete, or other permanent type of material, other than wood.

    (f)

    The term "interment rights" shall mean the right to bury the remains of a deceased in a designated lot for which a fee has been paid. These rights are only available in the "old section" of the cemetery.

    (g)

    The term "new section" shall mean those numbered lots as shown on a map of Rose Hill Memorial Gardens dated May 16, 1978 and prepared by S. D. Cox, R.L.S.

    (h)

    The term "old section" shall mean those lots shown as existing grave sites on a map of Rose Hill Memorial Gardens dated May 16, 1978, prepared by S. D. Cox.

    (i)

    The term "Infant Memorial Garden" shall refer to the designated area (as defined on the attached map) for the interment of infants only.
