§ 5-1-4. Permit fees.

(a)

Fee Schedule . The fee schedule for permits contained in this code is on file and available from the Building Department and City Clerk in City Hall.

(b)

Penalties For Work Without Permit; Payment of Fees . Where work for which a permit is required by this chapter is started or proceeded with prior to obtaining a permit, the fees specified in this section shall be doubled, but the payment of such double fee shall not relieve any persons from fully complying with the requirements of this chapter in the execution of the work, nor from any other penalties as prescribed in this section.

(c)

Except for demolition permit fees, single family residential buildings that are 50 years old or older are exempt from a permit fee; however, a permit remains a requirement. If an owner/contractor allows work to be performed on a building for which a fee is exempt, a penalty will be waged at twice the amount of the permit fee before the waiver.
