§ 1-3-7. Notice of meetings and agenda.

  • (a)

    Written public notice of regular meetings of Conway City Council, including date, time and place, shall be given at the beginning of each calendar year.

    (b)

    Matters to be considered by city council at regular or special meetings shall be placed on a written agenda prepared by the administrator and publicly posted by the clerk. Such notice must include the agenda, date, time, and place of the meeting, and shall be publicly posted at city hall and on the city's website as early as is practicable but not later than twenty-four hours before the meeting. This requirement does not apply to emergency meetings of city council.

    (c)

    Restrictions on amending agendas.

    (1)

    Once an agenda is posted, additional items may be added (1) with at least twenty-four hours' public notice as outlined in subsection (b).

    (2)

    After the meeting begins, an item, which is not a final action and for which public comment has been or will be received at a publicly noticed meeting, may be added to the agenda by a two-thirds vote of the members present and voting.

    (3)

    After the meeting begins, an item, which is a final action and/or for which there will be no opportunity for public comment, may be added to the agenda by a two-thirds vote of the members present and voting and a finding that an emergency or urgent circumstance exists.

    (d)

    Nothing herein relieves the city of any notice requirement with regard to any statutorily required public hearing.
